Windows Vista Features : Command Bar
We get the combined functions of Toolbar of XP's Window Explorer and task panes in Windows Vista. Depending upon the items you have selected portions of the command bar get changes as Task pane in XP.
These are the portions of the command bar that remains unchanged.
- Organize button:
It comes with a drop-down menu with which you can perform tasks like Creating a new folder, also you can go for cut, copy, paste, select all, undo, redo, close, delete and rename etc.
- Layout submenu:
In Explorer window whichever Enables you to determine which user interface elements appear. Classic Menus (which is off by default), Search Pane (except in the Search window which is off), Preview Pane (it's on by default), Reading Pane (it's also off by default), and the Navigation Pane (which is on by default) are contained in Elements.
- Views button:
Lets you change the icon view style.
Given figure shows the command bar change in the Documents window while selecting a document file.
Microsoft has done a remarkable job making this version of Windows Vista more dynamic and user friendly. As such, you can use it on your laptops from Tesco Direct or other computer models without worrying about complicated interfaces and control buttons. In addition, they have updated the present windows features and introduced some new ones. With this in mind, this new version is expected to create a standard in the operating systems market.
